BART Warm Springs Construction to Begin Saturday
The work will take place over the course of a year and impact parking, sidewalks and vehicle entrances.

BART is moving south — to Warms Springs and beyond. With the new journey comes the inevitable construction at the Fremont station to make way for the Warm Springs extension.
Work is scheduled to begin this Saturday, Aug. 3, according to BART.
The work will take place over the course of a year Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, with work to be done at night if necessary.

The construction will impact parking, sidewalks and vehicle entrances at the station.
According to BART, the work will occur in three phases. The first two will involve reconfiguring the bus routes and parking in the southeast area of the parking lot.

Bus schedules will not be impacted, however, permitted parking spaces will be reduced for several weeks.
The reduced permitted parking spaces will be offset by additional street parking on Civic Center Drive, BART said in a press release.
The third phase of construction — the most critical for BART commuters — will begin in the fall and will affect the southwest portion of the parking lot. Among the work will be a new overpass over Walnut Avenue.
Some daily fee parking spaces will be reducing during this final phase, but BART will provide free remote parking and shuttle service to offset the lost spaces. More details about the last phase will be released closer to the fall, BART said.
BART also warns that there may be construction-related noise and dust, along with other traffic impacts.
