The supplier and Alameda County health officials outline existing safeguards, while residents are reminded they can file food-safety complaints about Fremont markets directly with the county.
   

• Pedestrian hit and killed by driver Thursday in Fremont (eastbaytimes.com) — A pedestrian was fatally struck early Thursday near Fremont Boulevard and Delaware Drive, marking Fremont’s seventh traffic death this year. Police say the driver stayed at the scene, impairment is not suspected, and investigators are still determining whether the victim was in the crosswalk.
