Biker Killed In Fremont Crash Identified

A 64-year-old 64 motorcyclist was driving on Niles Canyon Road earlier this month when he struck a guard rail.

FREMONT, CA — A man who was killed when his motorcycle struck a guard rail in Fremont earlier this month has been identified by the coroner's office.

Dave Schummers, 64, was driving on Niles Canyon Road on May 19 at about 9:25 p.m. when his motorcycle struck a guard rail protector and he was ejected into the brush bordering Niles Canyon Creek, according to police.

Despite the best efforts of medical personnel, Schummers was pronounced deceased at the scene.
