Body Identified In East Bay Shooting That Left Another Injured: Police

The coroner's office had identified the body over the weekend but were waiting for the police to release the name.

FREMONT, CA — Police have released the identity of a man shot Friday in Fremont that left another person injured.

The Fremont Police Department have identified Anthony Santos as the man killed in the shooting on the 39000 block of Overacker Avenue in Fremont.

At around 6:42 p.m. on Friday, FPD officers said they responded to a report of a shooting near Walnut Avenue and Mission Boulevard.

Police said when they arrived they found two shooting victims, one with nonlife-threatening injuries, who was transported to the hospital, and a second victim who had died.

The Alameda County Coroner's Office said on Monday they had identified the body but was not going to release the name to the public while the investigation was ongoing.
