Bomb Threat At Local Private Schools Tied To Nationwide School Threats

The bomb threats were sent Monday, Oct. 16 to two private schools with four campuses total in Fremont, police said.

FREMONT, CA — A pair of bomb threats sent Monday, Oct. 16 via email to two private schools in Fremont were part of a nationwide threat, according to a Nixle Alert issued by Fremont Police.

In the alert, Fremont Police reported that the two private schools, which have four total campuses in the city, received an email at about 6:25 a.m. from an unknown suspect claiming explosives were inside of the schools.

"Out of an abundance of caution, all four campuses elected to send students home for the day," Fremont PD said, adding they were made aware of the threat and "immediately" began investigating.

"Fremont PD and school officials searched the school campuses for any suspicious items, but none were located," Fremont PD said.

As Fremont officers investigated they learned the email threat affected not just the four Fremont campuses but schools nationwide.

Fremont PD notified the Federal Bureau of Investigations which is now investigating the threats.
