Coroner IDs Security Guard Fatally Shot At Drug Store In Fremont

The Alameda County Coroner's Bureau ​identified the security guard as Abakr Amin​, 41, of Sacramento.

FREMONT, CA —A store security guard shot to death at a CVS Pharmacy in Fremont last week has been identified.

The Alameda County Coroner's Bureau identified the security guard as Abakr Amin, 41, of Sacramento, according to NBC Bay Area.

The shooting happened late Thursday night at the CVS in the Fremont Hub, located at Mowry Avenue and Fremont Boulevard. Police say Amin was shot after getting into a fight with another person, according to police.

Bay Area Store Security Guard Gunned Down In Confrontation

Police received multiple calls at 11 p.m. Thursday reporting the shooting. Officers arrived quickly and attempted life-saving efforts, but Amin was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses said a security guard and the other person were involved in a verbal altercation, which turned violent, according to police. A second person was hospitalized with stab wounds.
