Deadline Approaches For Fremont Clean Water Grants

FREMONT, CA — The deadline is quickly approaching to apply for an Alameda County Clean Water Program Community Stewardship Grant, offering up to $6,000 per project to support Fremont grassroots initiatives that prevent stormwater pollution and promote the health of local watersheds, creeks, and the San Francisco Bay.

The application deadline is less than three weeks away — May 9.

How to Apply

Applicants can download the application packet and budget worksheet template through the links provided by the Clean Water Program. Submissions must be completed online via Google Form, following the instructions in the application packet.

Eligible Projects

Grant funding is available for a variety of environmental projects, including:

  • Litter reduction efforts, such as creek and coastal cleanups
  • Outreach and education programs focused on watershed awareness, proper hazardous waste disposal, litter prevention, and non-toxic pest management
  • Development and distribution of outreach materials, such as videos, newsletters, and online content
  • Public art projects with environmental themes
  • Community engagement events promoting clean water initiatives
  • Creekside restoration and wildlife habitat enhancement
  • Stormwater detention projects, such as rainwater catchment and rain gardens

  • On-the-Water Estuary Cleanup – Water sports enthusiasts organized cleanups of inaccessible shoreline areas.
  • Preventing Pet Waste in Oakland Waterways – A campaign to educate pet owners on responsible waste disposal.
  • Removing Toxic Microplastics from Albany Beach – Addressing pollution at a local recreational site.
  • Custom Waste and Recycling Bins at Hayward Shoreline – Providing solutions for better waste management.
  • Cleaning up Oakland’s Sausal Creek – Restoring and protecting a key urban waterway.
