Deadly Crash On I-680 Prompts Sig Alert

FREMONT, CA — At least one person died Tuesday morning in a crash on northbound I-680 in Fremont.

The California Highway Patrol issued a sig alert for the right two lanes, which were blocked for several hours. The HOV lane was opened to all traffic in an effort to get traffic flowing more freely.

All lanes have reopened and traffic is moving normally.

The crash was first reported at 6:32 a.m. as an overturned vehicle near the Vargas Road offramp.
