Police Investigate Shooting In Alameda County That Left 1 Dead, 1 Injured

This is the first homicide to occur in the city in 2025, police said.

FREMONT, CA — Police are investigating a shooting that happened Friday in Fremont that left one person dead and another injured, police said.

At around 6:42 p.m. on Friday, officers from the Fremont Police Department said they responded to a report of a shooting on the 39000 block of Overacker Avenue in Fremont.

Once they arrived, police said they found two shooting victims, one with nonlife-threatening injuries, who was transported to the hospital, and a second victim who had died.

After determining the area was safe, police said they began an investigation and at this time are following up on leads.

The Alameda County Coroner's Office said they identified the body but has not released the name to the public while the investigation is ongoing.
