Driver Dies In Fiery Crash Into Fremont Building

The crash prompted the evacuation of residents.

FREMONT, Calif. — A driver died after their vehicle collided with a building on Old Warm Springs Blvd. in Fremont on Monday evening, sparking a fire.

The crash happened around 5:45 p.m., prompting evacuations of nearby residents due to heavy smoke.

Firefighters contained the blaze and residents were able to return after the area was deemed safe.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, with no other injuries reported.

This marks Fremont’s 10th fatal traffic collision of 2024.
