Fatal Crash Investigated In Fremont

The victim had just purchased a motorcycle when the deadly crash happened.

FREMONT, CA — A practice session with a newly purchased motorcycle ended in death for the rider, according to the Fremont Police Department. The victim's name and age are not immediately available.

The crash happened around 9:30 Sunday morning in the 6900 block of Dumbarton Circle. In addition to police officers, the Fremont Fire Department responded. The victim received medical attention but was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Traffic Investigations Unit took over the case. "The preliminary investigation reveals the motorcyclist was in the area to practice riding their newly purchased motorcycle," police report. "The motorcyclist was riding in a parking lot near a pathway when they veered off and struck a tree."

Investigators don't believe that drug or alcohol were factors.

The police department reports that this is Fremont’s seventh fatal traffic collision in 2024.
