Father Arrested After Leaving 10-Month-Old Baby in Car

Officers found the baby sweating profusely.

A 35-year-old father was arrested Friday after officers found his 10-month-old baby crying and sweating profusely inside of a locked car, according to Fremont police. 

Officers responded to the parking lot of the Vitamin Shoppe, located at 43425 Christy St. in the Pacific Commons shopping center, on a report of a baby locked inside of a vehicle.

According to Fremont police, there was a reported high of 97 degrees that day.

As officers were about to force their way into the car, the father showed up.

The amount of time that the baby was in the car was not disclosed in the report.

The father was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment.   

The baby was medically cleared and released to the mother, who was called to the scene.
