Fremont Is America's Least Stressed City, Study Says

Fremont residents are apparently living well, according to a study by WalletHub.

FREMONT, CA -- When it comes to healthy living, the city of Fremont tops the list. In a study released Tuesday, WalletHub found Fremont was the least stressed city in the U.S.

The credit report website compared 182 cities across 37 key metrics ranging from weekly work hours to debt load to divorce and suicide rates.

Researchers found Fremont to be the least stressed city while Detroit was named the most stressed city. Fremont was ranked the lowest in divorce rates and financial stress, according to the study.

The city's residents also had high median credit scores and one of the lowest poverty rates.

Greensboro, North Carolina, residents spent the fewest annual hours in traffic congestion per auto commuter, four, which was 25.5 times fewer than in Los Angeles, the city where residents spend the most at 102.

South Burlington, Vermont, had the lowest unemployment rate, 2 percent, which was 4.7 times lower than in Detroit, the city with the highest at 9.3 percent.

And, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, had the lowest share of adults in fair or poor health, 8.9 percent, which was 3.3 times lower than in El Paso, Texas, the city with the highest at 29 percent.
