Fremont Burmese Restaurant Named 1 Of Best In Region

Kyain Kyain, which offers great food and service, was the only Fremont restaurant named to the list.

FREMONT, CA — The San Francisco Chronicle has named a Fremont Restaurant to it's list of best Burmese Restaurants in The Bay Area.

Kyain Kyain, at 3649 Thornton Avenue, in Fremont’s Sunset Village strip mall, features indoor seating, takeout and delivery, along with great food and service, according to the San Francisco Chronicle article.

The restaurant's singular tea leaf salad ($14.50) was just one of many reasons the popular eatery was named to the list, the article said.

"Whereas most Bay Area Burmese restaurants serve the fermented leaves as a puree, Kyain Kyain presents them whole," the review said. "The wilted, almost floral leaves bring big flavor to the cabbage, sliced cherry tomatoes, yellow split peas, roasted peanuts and diced Thai chiles."

The "turmeric-hued" fish chowder ($10) embodies home cooking.
