Fremont Car Shop Workers Attacked By Axe-Wielding Man: Police

Police said a man with an axe walked up to workers outside the shop, accused them of sleeping with his girlfriend and started swinging.

FREMONT, CA — An axe-wielding man is accused of swinging the weapon at employees outside a Fremont car repair shop, according to police.

In a blotter report published Friday, police said several workers were outside the shop on Nov. 8 when an unknown man with an axe approached and accused them of sleeping with his girlfriend. Police allege the man threatened to kill the employees and swung the axe at two of them before one pulled out a gun, prompting the assailant to flee.

No one was injured during the incident.

According to police, officers searched the area and soon found the suspect emerging from the canal, where he was apprehended after a brief foot chase. He was booked into jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
