Fremont Minimum Wage Increases to $16.80 July 1

Employers are required to pay at least the minimum wage for all hours worked to hourly employees who perform work in the city's boundaries.

FREMONT, CA — Beginning July 1, 2023, the city of Fremont’s minimum wage will increase to $16.80 per hour, the city said.

"Employers are required to pay at least the minimum wage for all hours worked to hourly employees who perform work within the geographic boundaries of the city of Fremont, the city said in a news release.

To prevent inflation from eroding its value, the minimum wage will be adjusted by the local consumer price index annually., the city said.

Employers are also required to post the official city of Fremont Wage Bulletin in the top five languages spoken in the city in a conspicuous place at each work site.

The Official Bulletins, including translated versions, are available for download on the city’s Minimum Wage webpage.

"To avoid a reduction in the valuable services they provide to the community, the minimum wage ordinance exempts employees of non-profit corporations," the city said.
