Fremont Police Reminds Of Planned Road Closure For Oct. 24 Event

The partial road closures will take place today from approximately 3 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. for the Gurdwara Diwali Event.

FREMONT, CA — Fremont Police Department is reminding residents and visitors to the city of the closure of several roads for a special event today.

The partial road closures, originally announced in a news release issued by the department, will take place from approximately 3 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, near Gurdwara Sahib (300 Gurdwara Road, Fremont) for the Gurdwara Diwali Event.

Gurdwara Road between Grau and Mission Boulevard will be partially closed for the event, no left turns will be allowed from Gurdwara Road onto Mission Boulevard and no left turns will be allowed from Mission Boulevard to Gurdwara Road," police said.

According to the news release, a shuttle will be operating between Gurdwara Sahib and a parking area at 7th Street in Union City throughout the event.

"Please note the consumption or possession of alcohol, meat, or tobacco is not permitted at the site and head scarves are required on Gurdwara premises," the news release said. "All fireworks are illegal in the city of Fremont and no fireworks are allowed at the event."
