Fremont Road And Parking Lot Closures Slated For Labor Day Weekend Event

A few streets and parking lots in Fremont will be closed over the weekend to accommodate a popular fair.

FREMONT, CA — Drives should expect road closures this weekend in the Niles District, the Fremont Police Department announced Wednesday.

To accommodate the Niles Antique Faire and Flea Market, the following roads will be closed Sunday from 12 a.m. to 6 p.m.:

  • Niles Boulevard between G Street and J Street
  • G Street, H Street and I Street, between Second Street and Niles Boulevard

Certain parking lots will also be inaccessible during the weekend due to the event. From Saturday, 7 p.m., to Sunday, 6 p.m., the city parking lots next to the Niles Town Plaza will be closed.

The Fremont Police Department "strongly encourages attendees to plan ahead and arrange for safe transportation to and from events."

Backpacks and large bags are discouraged at the Niles Antique Faire and Flea Market and may be subject to search, police said. Additionally, drones (UAVs) are not permitted to fly over the event area.

Police advise event attendees to be aware of their surroundings and to report any suspicious activity.
