FREMONT, CA — Annanya Ghosh took this photo in Central Park. Annanya writes, "The rolling hills in the background are illuminated with rich hues of gold and green. The calm water reflects the warm light, creating a mirror-like effect."

The golden hour — the first hour after the sun rises in the morning, or the last hour before it sets in the evening — is a great time to take photos because of the warm glow cast across the landscape, or on faces.
