Garbage Service Delayed Due to Labor Dispute
Residents are advised to leave containers out and that they will be collected as soon as possible.

There will be no garbage and recycling service today due to a continued labor dispute between Teamsters and Republic/Allied Waste, the City of Fremont announced this morning.
The City is advising residents to leave their containers out for collection and that they will be picked up as soon as service resumes. The trash and recycling will be collected "no later than your next service day," the city said in a statement.

Service was delayed April 4 and 5 because Allied Waste, the nation's second largest garbage company, were locked in a labor struggle with workers. Allied Waste workers held strikes at various Bay area facilities and have continued again today.
