Local Business In Hot Water Over Catalytic Converter Thefts: Police

The investigation by Fremont police into stolen catalytic converters led officers to Arrow Recovery, officials said.

FREMONT, CA — One local business has found themselves in hot water over hundreds of stolen catalytic converters, according to police officials.

Arrow Recovery, located in the 46000 block of Warm Springs Boulevard, has been identified as a business accepting stolen catalytic converters that were later recovered, according to a news release issued by the department Monday, Aug. 8.

Fremont Police detectives have spent the last year investigating Arrow Recovery, who they allege over the monthslong investigation accepted multiple “cut catalytic converters,” sold to them by undercover officers, the news release reported.

The catalytic converters, police said, were marked or etched with “stolen” or other markings suggesting they had been illegally obtained.

After serving a search warrant on the business in June, detectives located “multiple 55-gallon drums of refined and semi-refined catalytic converter material, along with approximately eight pallets containing at least 300 suspected stolen catalytic converters,” the news release said.
