Update: Bomb Threat Prompts Lockdown at Thornton Junior High

The lockdown was lifted at about 2:35 p.m.

Thornton Junior High School was put on lockdown Wednesday afternoon after district officials received a report of a bomb threat, according to Fremont police.

Authorities learned of the threat at about 2 p.m. and quickly responded to the campus, located at 4357 Thornton Ave.

The school was locked down for safety for about 30 minutes as police investigated the threat.

"After a walk through of the facility, police staff determined it was safe to return to normal school activity," Fremont police noted in a press release.

The lockdown was lifted at about 2:35 p.m.
