Major Big-Rig Accident Causes Delays On I-680: CHP

Several cars, including a big rig truck, collided on I-680 southbound just north of South Mission Boulevard, resulting in major delays.

FREMONT, CA — A crash involving several cars and a big rig truck is causing major delays on I-680 southbound around Mission Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The right lane is blocked as of 10:30 a.m., according to 511.org. Major damage was reported to some of the cars, but the extent of injuries is unknown, according to a CHP incident log.

Three cars collided at 9:05 a.m., according to the log. At 9:09, a semi-truck crashed into the other cars, ejecting the passengers from their vehicles. One passenger was unable to exit their vehicle.
