Major Roads to be Closed for Fourth of July Parade

The roads will be closed from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Fremont Police Department has issued a Special Event Permit for the 2013 Fremont 4th of July Parade. This year’s parade, located in the City’s Downtown District, will feature more than 75 parade entries, including giant helium balloons, colorful patriotic floats, marching bands and equestrian units.. The parade will begin on Thursday, July 4th at 10:00 a.m. and is anticipated to last approximately two hours.

Several major roadways will be closed during the parade, so please plan ahead if you’re driving through Downtown. The roads will begin to close at 9:30 a.m. and will reopen by 1:00 p.m. The following roads are included in the closure:
  • Capitol Ave. (between State Street and Paseo Padre Parkway)
  • Paseo Padre Parkway (between Mowry and Walnut Ave.)
  • Walnut Ave. (between Paseo Padre Pkwy and California Street)
  • Liberty Street (between Walnut Ave. and Capitol Ave.)
  • Beacon Ave. (between Liberty Ave and Fremont Blvd.)
  • State Street (between Mowry Ave and Beacon Ave.)
