Man Grabs 11-Year-Old Girl On Her Way To School In Union City
Police are investigating the attempted kidnapping of an 11-year-old girl who was riding her scooter to school.
UNION CITY, CA — Officers are investigating an attempted kidnapping after a man grabbed the hood of an 11-year-old girl's sweatshirt while she was on her way to school Wednesday morning in Union City and tried to pull her away, police said Thursday.
At around 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Union City Police Department officers said they got a call about a suspicious incident involving a student at Itliong-Vera Cruz Middle School.
Police said an 11-year-old girl was riding her scooter to school when she was approached by a man who grabbed the hood of her sweatshirt and attempted to pull her in the area of Dyer Street and Meteor Drive.

The girl was able to get away uninjured from the suspect and told school staff what had happened, police said.
Officers said the suspect was described as a heavy-set man wearing a black hoodie pulled up and a mask covering his face. The suspect may have also been seen with a dark-colored sedan, police said.
