Man Shot in Leg at Park

The wound was not life-threatening.

A man was shot in the leg following a fight at Los Cerritos Park Thursday evening.  

According to the Fremont Police Department, the shooting occurred at around 7:45 p.m. Witnesses attending a baseball game at the said they saw a group of men fighting.  

When the fight ended, a male suspect got into a car and fired several shots before fleeing the scene.  

A about 8:15 p.m., Fremont police received a call from a local hospital that a 20-year-old Fremont man was being treated for a gunshot wound to his leg.  

The wound was not life-threatening, and the victim was released a short time later, according to police.  

The shooting is still under investigation.
