Man Wanted for Two Walmart Robberies Arrested

Melvin Landry Jr. was arrested by authorities in Pinole on Jan. 26.

A man wanted for armed robberies in Fremont and San Leandro was arrested in Pinole earlier this week, according to authorities.

Melvin Landry Jr., who was believed to be armed and dangerous, was arrested Jan. 26. He was on the run following two robberies in December and early January.

Landry and another suspect are believed to have robbed a Walmart on Davis Street in San Leandro on Dec. 17. At least one of the men was armed, police said.

Landry is also believed to be involved in a Jan. 3 armed robbery and assault at the Walmart at 40580 Albrae St in Fremont. The suspects fled in a 2002 black BMW with chrome rims.

A second suspect, Dominque Martin, was determined to be involved in the Fremont robbery and was arrested the following day when the BMW was spotted in Oakland, police said.

Fremont police announced Landry’s arrest on Thursday but no details about the arrest were released.
