FREMONT, CA — Fremont Police School Resource Officers arrested a student from Centerville Middle School for firearm-related offenses, police said.

Officers responded to a report of a student allegedly in possession of a firearm on Friday at around 9:15 a.m.

According to the police, school administrators searched the student's bag and found the gun.

The student did not show the gun or make any threats, authorities said.

The police said there were no immediate threats to the Fremont students or the community, Fremont PD said. Schools remained open.
