No One Injured In Saturday Shooting Involving Pedestrian, Vehicle

The shooting is likely gang-related, police say.

FREMONT, CA — No one was injured in a shooting that occurred Saturday night when a suspect drove up to a pedestrian and fired shots following a confrontation, but it is likely the shooting was gang related, police said.

Fremont police investigators are still looking for the shooting suspect who drove up next to the pedestrian in the 37000 block of Fremont Boulevard. shortly after 6:30 p.m. before firing the shots.

According to police, the pedestrian was not struck by any bullets, instead fleeing into a nearby neighborhood until he was contacted by officers.

The suspect vehicle fled the scene and there is no description yet of the vehicle nor the vehicle's occupant but Fremont police investigators said Sunday, April 9, that the shooting could've been gang related.

"Preliminary investigation suggested that the shooting could be gang-related," Fremont PD said in a news release about the shooting. "This case is still under investigation, and we appreciate any video surveillance or possible eyewitness statements from the community."
