📰 News we're reading

1. Lush Green East Bay Hills: Photo Of The Day (patch.com) — Fremont residents are enjoying a vivid green transformation of the East Bay Hills after recent storms, with Mission Peak looking especially lush. A local photographer captured the dramatic mix of clouds, sunlight, and wildlife, and Patch is inviting more high-quality photo submissions that showcase the area’s natural beauty and community life.

2. At Least 5 'Unkempt' Dogs Abandoned In Fremont (patch.com) — Fremont police and animal services are investigating a string of dog abandonments after at least five unkempt dogs, all about four years old, were found in different city locations. With one more dog still loose near Quarry Lakes, officials are asking Fremont residents to share any information that could help identify whoever is responsible.

3. Fremont: In the week of Dec. 8 best deals on homes (eastbaytimes.com) — If you’re watching Fremont’s housing market, this roundup shows the 10 most affordable homes recently sold, topped by a Cherry Lane condo that went for $545,000. With 37 total sales averaging $1.7 million, it breaks down prices, sizes, and bedroom counts across several Fremont neighborhoods.

4. Condo sales ties to alleged $100 million Bay Area real estate fraud might not be enough to repay victims (eastbaytimes.com) — Fremont residents may recognize the 91-unit Osgood Road condo project, whose completed and sold units have generated tens of millions of dollars now tied up in a federal fraud receivership. A court-appointed receiver says proceeds from this Fremont development and a similar San Jose project still won’t cover what hundreds of investors and other creditors are owed. A payout plan is expected later this year.
