Pedestrian Killed In Fremont Crash
Police are still investigating a crash that left one person dead last week in Fremont.
FREMONT, CA — Fremont traffic detectives are investigating the city's sixth deadly collision of the year after a driver hit and killed a pedestrian near Alvarado Boulevard and Merganser Drive last Friday.
In a news release shared Thursday, police said 911 calls came in around 9:30 p.m. on June 30 reporting a crash involving a car and pedestrian. Arriving officers found the pedestrian with significant injuries and Fremont Fire Department medics rushed to provide medical care. Unfortunately, the victim was pronounced dead.
Investigators said the involved driver stayed and the scene and was fully cooperative, with no signs of drug or alcohol impairment. The investigation remains open and additional witnesses are asked to contact the traffic unit at 510-790-6760. Tips may also be submitted anonymously online.
