Pedestrian Killed On Mission Boulevard
The crash happened during predawn hours on Sunday. The victim was not in a crosswalk.
FREMONT, CA — A pedestrian was struck and killed Sunday in Fremont, according to police.
At about 5:40 a.m., a 911 call came into police about an injury collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian in the area of Mission Boulevard and Mohave Drive.
Officers arrived and found a pedestrian lying in the roadway. Fremont Fire provided medical care to the person, and they were transported to the hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries and died.

Investigators believe that a car was traveling westbound on Mission Boulevard approaching Mohave Drive as the pedestrian was crossing Mission. The car struck the pedestrian in a westbound lane of Mission. According to police, the pedestrian was not using a marked crosswalk at the time of the collision.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation, but drug or alcohol impairment does not appear to be a factor, police said. The driver remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with the investigation.

The identity of the pedestrian is still being determined, police said.
This is Fremont's twelfth fatal traffic collision in 2024. Six have occurred on Fremont roadways, four have occurred on state highways, and two on private property, according to police.
