55-Year-Old Bay Area Pedestrian Struck And Killed By Car: Police
Police said they found the 55-year-old man's body lying in the road when they arrived.
UNION CITY, CA — A 55-year-old man died Wednesday morning in Union City after he was hit by a car and despite life-saving efforts by paramedics, police said.
At around 6:26 a.m. on Wednesday, Union City Police Department officers received a call that a car had hit a pedestrian at the intersection of Decoto Road and Royal Ann Drive.
When officers arrived they said they found a 55-year-old man lying in the street who had been hit by the car while crossing Decoto Road.

Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, the man was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The driver remained at scene and fully cooperated with investigators, police said.
Currently, alcohol or drug impairment do not appear to be factors in the crash, police said.
Officers closed southbound Decoto Road for several hours and reopened it around noon.
This incident remains under investigation.
This marks Union City’s fourth fatal collision of 2025, police said.
