FREMONT, CA — Fremont approved a project to improve Lake Elizabeth water quality after a fish die-off in 2024, SF Gate reports.

The Fremont City Council will implement a pilot project that includes adding three surface aerators for improved oxygenation, nine floating islands for shade and temperature regulation, and three probes for water quality monitoring.

Improvements will be added by July 2025, with expansion possible if successful.
