Police, First Responders Conduct Training At Facebook Property
Pyrotechnics may be used to simulate explosions during the training, according to police.

FREMONT, CA — Law enforcement and emergency responders are conducting a large active shooter training at a vacant Facebook property near Fremont's Ardenwood neighborhood today. The training will last until 6 p.m. and involves dozens of personnel from almost every government emergency response team in the city.
This includes police, firefighters and paramedics in addition to volunteers from Facebook, police said. Pyrotechnics may be used to simulate explosions during the training, according to police, but the noise is not expected to disrupt businesses and homes in the surrounding area. Sirens will not be used during the exercise.
Several different agencies are conducting the joint training to prepare for major acts of violence, such as a shooter or dangerous intruder.
