Mei Lead Over Wahab Shrinks: Fremont Election Results

Mail-in ballots are continuing to be counted.

FREMONT, CA — Mail-in ballots were added to vote totals in Fremont and beyond on Wednesday, impacting important local races.

For the 10th State Senate seat, Fremont Mayor Lily Mei's lead over Aisha Wahab has shrunks. At 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Mei had 48,974 votes to Wahab's 47,542, a difference of 1,432 votes.

On election night, Mei had 44,098 votes to Wahab's 42,529, a difference of 1,569 votes. Voters in both Alameda and Santa Clara counties are part of the 10th district.

For Fremont City Council, Desrie Campbell continues to lead Robert Daulton and Keith Parker in District 2; Jenny Kassan leads Kathy Kimberlin and Arif Mohamed in District 3; in District 4, Yang Shao has a comfortable lead over Bryce Beckel.

For Fremont Unified School District School Board, Dianne Jones has a substantial lead over Jennifer Kavouniaris.

In the hotly contested Alameda County District Attorney's race Terry Wiley's lead over Pamela Price shrunk from 6,000 votes on election night to 5,000 votes Wednesday afternoon.
