Registration Now Open For Fremont's National Night Out

The annual event promoting police and community partnerships will take place Tuesday, Aug. 1.

FREMONT, CA — The city of Fremont announced registration for its National Night Out event is now open.

Celebrated by millions of neighbors across thousands of communities, the annual event promoting police and community partnerships, will take part throughout the Bay Area and across the nation Tuesday Aug. 1.

Those interested in taking part in National Night Out can organize or attend an event in their neighborhoods where residents are invited to gather together and get to know one another, the city said.

Sizes of participating groups often vary from just a few neighbors to events where 100 people or more come out, the city said.

"Fremont Police, Fremont Fire, and City staff plan to visit NNO parties on the night on Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2023 between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m.," Fremont Polce said, adding that visits cannot be guaranteed, pending available staffing and any calls for service or critical incidents requiring city resources.

"If interested in a visit, you must indicate the request on your registration," the city said. "If your party is held on another day and not on the official NNO date, unfortunately, a visit cannot be conducted by the city's NNO team. "

Registration and permit application deadline is Friday, June 30 at 5 p.m., the city said.
