Volunteers Make All The Difference On Coastal Cleanup Day: Fremont

Join others for a good cause: sprucing up beaches and waterways in local parks.

FREMONT, CA — The 41st annual Coastal Cleanup is happening Saturday, and community volunteers are welcome to participate, the East Bay Regional Park District announced.

California Coastal Cleanup Day is the state's largest annual volunteer event. Every year, people help remove trash and plastic pollution at beaches and waterways at local parks.

This Saturday, Fremont residents can head to Quarry Lakes Regional Recreation Area, at 2100 Isherwood Way, for trash removal from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Volunteers will have the opportunity to earn an official Coastal Cleanup patch or sticker, and special prizes will be awarded for "the most unusual trash collected," according to park officials.
