Yemeni Coffee Shop Opens First West Coast Location In Fremont

Each sip of this coffee sends customers on a "sensory expedition," the company said.

FREMONT, CA — A Yemeni coffee shop has opened its first location on the West Coast, and it's in Fremont.

Moka & Co. soft opened its new location at 40667 Fremont Blvd. on Monday. It is the company's first location on the West Coast after having already established itself in the New York and Michigan coffee scene.

The company says its beans are sourced from Yemen, which go through ancient agricultural practices.

"Our beans are cultivated on terraced mountainsides, a symbol of traditional farming wisdom, and nurtured by the hands of skilled artisans," the company says on its website. "Each coffee bean is carefully handpicked and sun-dried atop stone rooftops, a method passed down through generations, ensuring that every cup you pour is imbued with history and purity."

The menu features items such as ice pistachio lattes and iced moka spice lattes. Traditional coffees such as mufawar coffee, adeni chai, maleki coffee, qishr coffee and Turkish coffee. There are also refreshers and matcha, according to the company.

"With each sip, you embark on a sensory expedition, guided by the rich, aromatic spices that weave through our unique blends," the company said. "Our commitment to authenticity means your cup is not just filled with a drink, but with the legacy of recipes handed down through generations, meticulously prepared to ensure a truly hand-crafted indulgence."

The new Fremont location is open every day from 8 to 10 p.m.
