Earthquake Rattles Central California Wednesday
The earthquake struck just before 8:15 a.m. Did you feel it?
FRESNO, CA— A magnitude 3.4 earthquake struck with an epicenter just east of Wofford Heights in Central, CA, Wednesday morning, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The small temblor was reported at 8:15 a.m.
Residents across Kern County reported feeling the quake, as did residents from Fresno to Visalia, according to initial reports. Wofford Heights is a sparsely populated city in Central CA with just over 2,000 residents. Quakes of this size are considered minor, though they can be felt. There is rarely damage in a quake from the 3.0 to 3.5 range, according to the USGS Did You Feel It survey.
