Fresno County program providing mental health support for students during winter break (abc30.com) — Fresno County schools are expanding free All 4 Youth mental health services so local students up to age 25 can get support even while campuses are closed for winter break. Counselors are available at homes, schools, public spaces and 12 Wellness Centers, including Orange Center Elementary, to help with everything from mild mental health needs to basic assistance like clothing and applications.
   

2. Fresno police arrest suspect in long term Amazon package theft investigation (kmph.com) — Fresno police have arrested a third-party Amazon delivery driver accused of stealing thousands of dollars in packages from local customers over nearly a year. Detectives served a search warrant near North Seventh and East Shields, recovered suspected stolen items, and returned property to Amazon. The suspect now faces grand theft and possession of stolen property charges in Fresno County Jail.
   

3. Historic building demolished in Fresno's Chinatown (yourcentralvalley.com) — A 140-year-old historic building in Fresno’s Chinatown, once a key hub for immigrant communities, has been demolished after a recent fire left it badly damaged. The structure, owned by high-speed rail and used as a public art canvas, is prompting local historians to call for stronger protections for vacant historic buildings so Fresno doesn’t lose more of its past.
   

4. Fresno makes changes to its contentious anti-camping law (fresnoland.org) — Fresno residents will see stricter enforcement of the city’s anti-encampment law after the City Council approved amendments clarifying loitering and penalties for repeat violators. The council also set aside $12 million to renovate a new police headquarters and moved to keep summer 2026 aquatics programs running at several Fresno Unified high school pools, supporting youth jobs and swim access.
   

5. Man shot while in vehicle across from Fresno mall, police say (fresnobee.com) — A 28-year-old man was shot twice Thursday evening while sitting in a vehicle near Santa Ana Avenue and First Street, across from Fresno’s Fashion Fair Mall. Police say several suspects confronted the car, an argument broke out, and one opened fire, grazing the driver. Officers emphasize the shooting was an isolated incident unrelated to the mall itself.
