Two historic Fresno congregations will gather in the New Year to commemorate Armenian Christmas.

On Wednesday evening, January 5, members and friends of Pilgrim Armenian Congregational Church and First Armenian Presbyterian Church will celebrate Armenian Christmas, also known as “Epiphany.” The in-person Armenian-language service will take place at 7 p.m. at the FAPC Campus, 430 South First Street at Historic Huntington Boulevard. The service will also be livestreamed at: https://www.facebook.com/FAPCFresno/.

The word “Advent” means “coming” or “arrival.” During Advent Season, Christian Churches celebrate the arrival of Jesus of Nazareth in Bethlehem of Judea and watch with hope for his coming again. Epiphany represents the manifestation of the Christ Child to the Gentiles, as exemplified by the Magi bearing gifts.
