Fresno police say nearby buildings were also hit by gunfire and are asking anyone with information or video to contact their non-emergency line.

Future of mega Madera County casino near Highway 99 unclear after state court steps in (abc30.com) — A Fresno-based appellate court has thrown the future of a massive North Fork casino project near Highway 99 into doubt by ruling its state approvals invalid. Surveillance video captures $27K wig theft at northwest Fresno store (abc30.com) — A northwest Fresno wig shop that serves cancer patients and others with hair loss is reeling after thieves twice smashed windows and grabbed more than 30 wigs, causing an estimated $27,000 in losses. Surveillance video captured both incidents, and Fresno Police are investigating as the business worries about the impact on vulnerable customers who rely on its services.

Science Mixed With Holiday Magic Safeguards Century-old Legacy of ‘Christmas Tree Lane' (goodnewsnetwork.org) — Fresno’s beloved Christmas Tree Lane is being preserved with help from Belmont Nursery, which cloned the original memorial cedar to keep the century-old tradition alive. Eighty saplings, genetically identical to the first tree, are now planted along the Lane, ensuring this iconic Fresno holiday display continues brightening winters for generations of local families and visitors alike.
   

5. Vintage store, ministries aid Fresno's unhoused community (yourcentralvalley.com) — Residents near Palm and Olive in Fresno spent Saturday handing out food, blankets, and warm clothing to unhoused neighbors as cold, rainy weather approaches. Bebe O's Vintage Boutique and Men and Women of Prayer organized the outreach, drawing on their own past experiences with homelessness and addiction while urging city leaders to do more to get people off the streets.
