2 Acre Fire In Steep Terrain Breaks Out In Gilroy: Cal Fire

GILROY, CA — Firefighters in Gilroy were battling a fire in steep terrain on Redwood Retreat Road on Friday afternoon.

The fire was reported shortly before 4 p.m., according to Cal Fire. It grew from a quarter acre to eight acres in about a half hour, but was later reduced to two acres after mapping, Cal Fire reported.

Firefighters were making "good progress," Cal Fire reported shortly after 5:30 p.m.
