Adult Arrested for Buying Alcohol for Underage Decoy

The adult was arrested Friday in Morgan Hill.

Morgan Hill police arrested an adult suspect in a state-funded undercover operation where officers used a juvenile decoy to ask the adult to buy alcohol, police said.

Police announced Friday that the adult, who is not being identified, was arrested May 25 on suspicion of furnishing alcohol to a minor.

The arrest followed several undercover enforcement actions, called "Minor Decoy/Shoulder Tap," in Morgan Hill that day, police said.

The minor decoy approached the suspect, asked them to purchase alcoholic beverage and the suspect complied, police said.

The operation is part of the Minor Decoy/Shoulder Tap grant project put on by the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, police said.

The project is funded by the state Department of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, police said.
