Adult Reading Program Needs Volunteers
One in four adults has below-average literacy in reading or technology.

Volunteers are needed for the Santa Clara County Library Reading Program, a team of tutors who help adults improve their literacy in both reading and technology.
“It is estimated that 23 percent of adults in California have below average reading, writing, math and computer use skills, making it very difficult to function in the world today,” said the library district in a press release.
More than 100 people have volunteered for the program this year. Gilroy’s program is at 42 Martin St.
