Break In At City Hall Leaves Door Damaged
Suspects may have misinterpreted 'Open Government Ordinance.'
A door to the is heavily damaged after a break in at City Hall last week, police said.
"It was investigated, and it was determined that it could have been an intended burglary," said Daniel Castaneda, a watch commander from the Gilroy Police Department.
City Hall staff reported the incident on Jan. 28. With no items stolen, it has become a vandalism case, Castaneda said.

The cost to repair the ornate wooden door, which leads outside toward the City Hall parking lot, is unknown.
