Community Invited To Discuss Potential Sharks Ice Rink In Gilroy

GILROY, CA — Gilroy community members will have a chance to weigh in next Monday on a proposed ice rink at Gilroy Sports Park in partnership with the San Jose Sharks.
The proposed facility would consist of two ice rinks, with the possibility of a swimming or recreational facility, according to the city. The Gilroy Dispatch reported in July that the facility would be 100,000 square feet and also include a restaurant, with an estimated cost of $40 million.
The Sharks are offering 20,000 square feet of space for city use, according to the Dispatch.

If the city moves forward with the proposal, it plans to conduct additional studies, reports and community outreach meetings, according to the city.
