Crime Update: AK-47s, Child Abuse and Kids with Pills

See what the Gilroy Police Department has been up to since May 2.

May 7:

A juvenile claimed that her mother punched her in the face and her father pulled her hair. Police saw a small cut on her lip. She was taken into protective custody at 12:24 a.m.

Grand Theft: Two guitars, one valued at $3,000, were stolen from Longhouse Restaurant at 1:45 a.m.

Petty Theft: Prescription medication was stolen from a home on Desert Bloom Place at 8:45 a.m.

Trespassing: An intoxicated woman was arrested for refusing to leave a home where she does not live on Kensingtno Place at 5:17 p.m. 

May 4:

Robbery: Israel Hernandez Mira followed his girlfriend into the bathroom at Denny's and stole her iPhone and purse at 2 a.m.

Auto Burglary: Over $1,100 of damage was done to a car on Zinnia Street at 10 p.m.

Assault: Tanya Kathleen Haro, 18, hit a man multiple times in the face then broke his back window at 4:31 a.m.

Grand Theft: A safe was stolen from the back of a business on First Street at 3:05 p.m.

May 3:

Public Intoxication: William James Silva, 63, was bothering Nob Hill customers at 11:48 a.m.

Possession of Narcotics: A student at Brownell Middle School was found with prescription medication at 11:09 a.m.

Assault: Joel Gray was arrested for domestic violence on E 8th St. at 4 p.m.

Fraud: Someone stole a woman's purse and charged nearly $1,000 to her cards at stores in Gilroy and Morgan Hill.

Narcotics: Jerry Joseph Mungaray, 33, was found under the influence of methamphetamine on Leavesley Road at 8:25 p.m.

Vandalism: Krystal Aguilar, 30, was arrested for public intoxication. While in jail, she broke out the cell window. 

May 2: 

Assault: A juvenile hit and spit on his mother on Carmel Street at 7:35 a.m.

Vehicle Theft: Juan Carlos Lara was found in asleep in a car stolen from Aptos on Old Gilroy Street at 8:35 a.m.

Animal Bite: A family dog bit a child in the face on Ronan Avenue at 7:30 p.m.

Fraud: A credit card was stolen and $2,687 was charged in Fairfield and Vallejo.

Petty Theft: Blankets and pants were stolen from a store on Camino Arroyo at 2:50 p.m.

Weapons: Erin Scott Bass, 36, and Norbert Hernandez, 40 were arrested after being pulled over. Police found nine guns in the trunk including an AK-47-style assault rigle.
