DUI, License Checkpoint Planned Friday Near Gilroy
The California Highway Patrol will deploy a checkpoint Friday to check passing drivers for impairment and valid licenses.
GILROY, CA — California Highway Patrol officers from the Hollister-Gilroy office will conduct sobriety and drive license checkpoints on Friday south of Santa Clara County.
Drivers passing through the area may be checked for impairment with alcohol screening devices and arrested if they are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
"The checkpoint will send a clear message to the community that the CHP will not tolerate impaired driving and will promote awareness of the dangers of driving under the influence," reads a press release from CHP on Sunday.
